The Philippine Futures Thinking Society (PhilFutures) is the premier membership organization for foresight and futures thinking professionals in the country. It is the organizations’ vision to ignite the Filipino Hiraya through the power of foresight as we aim to democratize futures thinking through education, training, research and advocacy. 

To celebrate our first year founding anniversary, we will be hosting a month-long series of online events entitled the “Fiesta of ImagiNation”. Every Wednesday and Saturday, from June 2 to July 2, 2021, we will be organizing different pre-events with private organizations, national government agencies, and state universities and colleges (SUCs). These pre-events revolve around the topics of the futures of education that concern their respective fields of profession. 

Furthermore, to culminate our Fiesta of ImagiNation, we will be celebrating the first ever Philippine Futures Day on June 19, 2021. It will also mark the first anniversary of PhilFutures and the launch of the Hiraya Foresight Magazine and the Hiraya Podcast Series. The event will feature keynote speakers such as Senator Pia Cayetano, Sohail Inayatullah, Jim Dator and talks from the Association of Professional Futurists and the Millennium Project Philippines. 

Last November, our hosting of the Asia Pacific Futures Network conference proved to be successful with about 400 participants in attendance. This time, the Fiesta of ImagiNation aims to gather around 3000 participants from the Philippines and the rest of the world – ranging from students up to professionals in different fields of practice. 

Through this online event, we live up to our goal to expand the indigenous base of futures thinking in the country.
